The Infertility Counseling Center of Jacksonville Launching New Yoga Based Fertility Wellness Program. Dennis and Kathy Lang have been chosen to participate in this new program. Based on the Harvard Medical School Mind/Body program, the Infertility Counseling Center is bringing this program to the Jacksonville area. “Stress is a primary contributor to infertility and yoga has been shown to reduce stress through many published studies. The classes we are providing will add the fitness benefit with controlled breath, movements and postures as well as relaxation techniques for stress reduction. We are very excited to be a part of this program as we have experienced the health benefits of yoga our selves. It's our passion to share yoga with others,” said Dennis Lang. The Lang’s are now certified Yin Yoga instructors. Dennis and Kathy just completed a comprehensive teacher training program at the Ashville Yoga Center in Ashville, NC. Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissues and meridians throughout the body with a deep meditative practice. This complements the Vinyasa Flow Yoga the Lang’s have been teaching. They plan to integrate both styles and adapt them for various special needs and will conduct workshops to bring Yin Yoga to the community. Dennis and Kathy Lang volunteer for the recent Breast Cancer Marathon. As part of their giving back to the community efforts, the Lang’s worked the hydration station at mile 14 of the marathon held in Jacksonville Sunday, February 17th. They have been supporters of the Donna Hicken Foundation which along with the Mayo Clinic is a beneficiary of the proceeds. Donna Hicken is the founder of both the Foundation and most recently the marathon which is the first and only dedicated to fight breast cancer. “We both have family members who have fought breast cancer and we have been supporters of the foundation since its beginning”, said Kathy Lang. The Lang’s also donated and led two yoga classes for the marathon runners the day before focused on improved performance, flexibility and relaxation techniques. The Lang’s have scheduled another charity based yoga class for city workers in March.

Jacksonville, FL. Dennis and Kathy announced today they are holding two race-specific yoga classes designed for runners in the Donna Hicken Breast Cancer Marathon. These two classes are pre-race preparation focusing on light stretching, breathing and relaxation. Classes are free, no reservation required and will be held at 1 PM and 3PM on Saturday, February, 16th 2008 at the Cobalt Moon Center at 217 1st Street in Neptune Beach, FL.
